Hero Douglas is 17 and very excited to be playing Cecilia. She has worked as an actress in Rownd a Rownd for S4C and has also presented a documentary about divorce and the impact on children for S4C.
She studied harp, composition, piano and singing at Chetham’s School of Music. As a harpist and singer she has performed at numerous venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall and Wembley Arena. She was the principal harpist for the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra 2016. As a musician she has been on S4C, BBC, Sky and Channel 4. A song that she composed and performed went to number 5 in the iTunes charts. She performs with Aziz from the Stone Roses and was one of three Welsh children to sing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. She has recorded an album of Sunday school songs.
Hero has a column in the Daily Post and has written for the Guardian, Times and other national papers. Her hobbies include fell running in Snowdonia where she lives and open water swimming. She has swum from Europe to Asia across the Hellespont. She is a sponsored event horse rider.
Hero is fluent in Welsh and English.
Hero raised £25,000 to save her local ski slope.
A swim from Europe to Asia raised £1500 for a divorce charity.
She has raised £3500 for her local riding club and pony club through concerts.
She has performed hundreds of times to raise money for different charities and has also written songs to raise awareness about young people in care.
She is going to do a Tough Mudder to raise money for Wilber Wonder Pony in memory of the young event rider Hannah Francis.
